Rund um die Welt wird RC Car gefahren. Dies ist auch im fernen Singapor der Fall. Dort fand nach zwei Jahren wieder die Urban Touring Series statt
Report by Dominic Quek (englischer Bericht)
The Urban Touring Series finally returned after a 2 year break due to COVID. During practice in the days leading up to the event, it was clear that it was going to be an extremely close fight not just for the win but even to make the main, since the pace was extremely close between all front runners.
In the premier 17.5 touring class, I managed to take the TQ and overall victory, an important first step in defending the title this season. I was joined on the podium by two young guns, Ethan Cheng and Sean Lee. It was a somewhat unfortunate event for our XRAY Singapore team drivers Esmail Apandi and Zaccheus Lam. Esmail qualified in 3rd but was unable to maintain his podium position after multiple incidents in the finals, finishing in 4th place. Zaccheus had fantastic pace, even leading some rounds of qualifying at some point during the run, but had really bad luck throughout qualifying and had to bump up from the B to the A main. He was still able to salvage a decent finishing position, going from 7th to 5th after all the triple finals. It’s great to see that all XRAY drivers showed strong pace, especially Eric Choo who qualified directly into the A main in 6th and finished 8th with his privateer X4!

The 17.5 FF class was run in a Reedy format, with 5 rounds of finals with randomized starting grids which made for fantastic action on the track. Local veteran Kamen Koh took the win, but was under pressure all day from Eric Choo in his T4F, while Brandon Koh rounded out the podium in his T4F as well!
