{"id":129683,"date":"2017-09-04T14:05:40","date_gmt":"2017-09-04T12:05:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mikanews.de\/?p=129683"},"modified":"2017-09-04T14:05:40","modified_gmt":"2017-09-04T12:05:40","slug":"efra-18th-electric-off-road-european-championship-finals-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mikanews.de\/?p=129683","title":{"rendered":"EFRA 1\/8th Electric Off Road European Championship \u2013 Finals Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ungew\u00f6hnlicher starker Regen hatte diese EFRA Europameisterschaft in der Klasse Elektro 1\/8 Offroad in Velika Gorica in Kroatien.\u00a0\u00fcberschattet. \u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Nachdem am Samstag, den 2.9.2017 wenig gefahren werden konnte und es nur einen Qualilauf gab, hielt sich der Regen in der Nacht. Nach einer intensiven Streckenvorbereitung und mehreren S\u00e4cken S\u00e4gemehl waren es soweit. Der Zeitplan mit 2 Qualifikationen und dann 3-Finalen f\u00fcr alle war straff organisiert.<\/p>\n<p>Mit st\u00e4ndig wechselnden Bedingungen auf der Strecke hatten alle zu k\u00e4mpfen. Nach der Qualifikation f\u00fchrte der amtierende Champion David Ronnefalk mit HB vor Davide Ongaro \/ Associated und Martin Wollanka. Elliot Boots auf 9. und Robert Battle &#8211; er gewann die Nitro-EM in Schweden folgte auf 16. Aus deutscher Sicht war toll, dasy mit J\u00f6rn Neumann und Micha Widmaier zwei Fahrer im A-Finale starteten. Hier der Link:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wuO0OqBVP3A?version=3&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" width=\"474\" height=\"297\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<h6>Englische Version<\/h6>\n<p>EFRA 1\/8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Electric Off Road European Championship \u2013 Finals Report<\/p>\n<p>Unseasonal heavy rain had put this Final Open Championship of the EFRA season in considerable doubt, as Saturdays running had seen just one round of qualification run before the heavens opened, dropping biblical amounts of rain onto an already drenched surface here in Velika Gorica in Croatia.<br \/>\nLuckily the rain stopped during the night and after some intensive track prep and several bags of sawdust we were ready to go with a packed program of 2 Qualifiers and then 3-legged finals for all.<br \/>\nWith constantly changing conditions as the track dried Qualifying was a voyage into mystery for the drivers but winning both rounds was reigning champion David Rinnefalk his HB chassied car just edging out Davide Ongaro\u2019s Associated. Marting Wollanka lined up Third making the most of his round one win on Saturday when most had stayed in the pits due to the weather. Not enjoying qualifying as much were Elliot Boots back in 9<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and Robert Battle \u2013 who won the Nitro version of this championship a few weeks ago \u2013 in 16<sup>th<\/sup>.<br \/>\nNew for this year was a last chance qualifier where the \u201cB\u201d finalists ran with the winner progressing to grid 13 in the main finals \u2013 and here Robert Battle finally got a decent run and cruised to an easy win ahead of the Czech Republics Martin Bayer.<br \/>\nThe Championship was to be decided over 3 x 10 minute \u201cA\u201d mains with the best 2 to count.<br \/>\nLeg one saw David Ronnefalk into the lead from the hooter, \u00a0slowly establishing a comfortable lead over Davide Ongaro, with fellow Italian Alex Zanchettin coming up form 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0on the Grid to claim 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.<br \/>\nLeg two was even easier for Ronnefalk as the Swede cruised to another leg win and the retention of his title. This is David\u2019s 4<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0European championship adding to his 1\/8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Nitro wins in 2014 and 15 and last years victory in this event.<br \/>\nLeg three was, as always more frenetic with David not taking part having already claimed the title Ongaro looked to have a clear path to second overall, but Alex Zanchettin harried his fellow countryman\u00a0 for the most of the race before ironically making a mistake 1 corner before Ongaro cached himself and thus being unable to take advantage.
