Am Samstag, den 14.07.2018 gingen die aufsteigenden Finals weiter bis nach 15 Uhr die beiden Endl\u00e4ufe in Formel und TC auf dem Zeitplan standen. In der Klasse Formel war es der Schweizer Kevin\u00a0Stegm\u00fcller, der vor dem Pole-Mann\u00a0Tobias Gagesch<\/a>\u00a0und Timo Nau (Beide aus Deutschland) siegreich war.<\/p>\n

In der Klasse TC sorgte Markus Feldmann f\u00fcr einen blitzsauberen Start-Ziel-Sieg. Hinter ihm k\u00e4mpften der nun ehemalige Europameister Bernard Alain\u00a0ARNALDI, Patrick\u00a0Folmann und Giovanni\u00a0Verbrugghe um den zweiten Platz. Unglaublich wie eng es am Anfang des Rennen zwischen den drei Fahrern zuging, bis das Fahrzeug von Bernard ins Schlingern kam und ihn Patrick traf. \u00dcber die Zeitstrafe, die er gleich in der Box absitzen musste, kann man spekulieren, da er nicht wirklich ausweichen konnte. Sei es drum, damit war der Weg frei f\u00fcr Giovanni. An der Spitze siegte Markus Feldmann vor Giovanni Verbrugghe\u00a0 und Patrick\u00a0Folmann.<\/p>\n

EFRA Large Scale Touring Car and F1 Finals Report<\/p>\n

Another day of blazing sun here in Northern France was the icing on the cake for a great days racing and a great event hosted by the Touraville Club<\/p>\n

Two European Championships were to be decided in the Large Scale (1\/5th<\/sup>) Class. The F1 and Touring Car<\/p>\n

F1<\/p>\n

First up were the Formula 1 cars and the drivers put on a great show that event their full scale compatriots would be proud of.<\/p>\n

From the tone Tobias Gagesch leapt into the lead and began to pull away, this was entirely expected as the German had dominated qualifying, however after a couple of laps it became clear that all was not right with his Harm Machine as he consistently struggled to get the car to turn into the hairpin at the bottom of the circuit. The initial beneficiary of this was fellow German Timo Nau who nipped past to establish a firm lead. Soon after Keving Stegmuller also got past Tobias and began hunting TImo down. Whilst Keving seemed to have more speed the Swiss racer could not seem to get on terms with TImo as first a Flip and then a small accident kept him some way behind. However in the closing minutes he began to gain rapidly on Nau whose car was beginning to struggle slightly to put down it\u2019s power and in a thrilling climax Kevin swept into the lead on the penultimate lap to claim the crown. TImo held onto second form a very disappointed Tobias<\/p>\n

Touring Car<\/p>\n

It The Touring car final the result was never in Doubt as \u201cMighty\u201d Markus Feldman took his 7th<\/sup>European title \u2013 but more significantly his first since 2010 with a lights to flag victory.
\nBehind him the podium places were always in doubt as a battle royale between 2017 Euro champ Bernard Arnaldi, up and coming star Patrick Folmann and 2016 champ Giovanni Verbrugghe entertained the huge crowd for over half the 30 minutes of the final. In the end the Dane Folmann tangled with Arnaldi allowing Verbrugghe to slip past for 2nd<\/sup>. Folmann picked up 3rd<\/sup>when Arnaldi had to retire towards the end much to the disappointment of his fellow countrymen lining the track<\/p>\n

This left a jubilant Feldmann to take the trophy, which he described as \u201cEast\u201d thanks to \u201cThe fantastic set up and work from my mechanic\u201d<\/p>\n
