Das war eine gelungene Premiere f\u00fcr Ty Tessmann mit seinem Xray XB8 beim Warmup zur Dirt Nitro Challenge in den USA. Auf der Strecke in Perris konnte er seinen Xray zum Sieg fahren.<\/p>\n

    Race report by Ty Tessmann<\/p>\n

    This past weekend we raced at the Dirt Nitro Challenge warmup at the Dirt track in Perris, CA. It was good to get back on the dirt and burn some nitro. The layout was extremely fast but not too challenging at the start but I knew that would change as the weekend went on, as we had some history of how this dirt behaves.<\/p>\n

    Friday, open practice started at 2pm, we spent the afternoon and evening testing tires and getting the setup dialed in, trying to get on the track with all the different track conditions, dry and wet, day and night to compile as much information as we could.<\/p>\n

    Saturday we would run 3 qualifiers, because there was only 1 heat in pro nitro buggy, we used each qualifier to try different things, I would end up qualifying 6th<\/sup>\u00a0overall. Saturday night after qualifying we got some more practice in and I was confident for the main.<\/p>\n

    Sunday I would run a 30 minute main, by the time I ran the track got really rough and blown out as we had anticipated, but I felt my car would be good. I got a good start and made my way up to 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0for a few laps and then made a mistake which dropped me to 3rd<\/sup>, where I stayed for about 14 laps and then made my way back up and swapped between 1st<\/sup>\u00a0and 2nd<\/sup>, and ended up in first for the last part of the race to take the win. During the race that I felt that my car could have even been better so right after the race Joey opened the track for practice and we were able to try some more things on the car. We ended up making the car even better and gained a lot of confidence going into DNC.<\/p>\n
