The Tomahawk led Kyosho’s charge in the 2WD class, including a works-spec machine driven by its designer, Akira Kogawa. 41 years later, this very works-spec Tomahawk has been revived!

Released as the 20th installment of the Kyosho Vintage Series in a limited production run, the Tomahawk ’85 World Championship Spec is based on the Tomahawk reissued in 2015. By incorporating newly developed parts and including optional components as standard, it faithfully recreates the World Championship entry model while delivering significant performance upgrades.

The Tomahawk’s signature ladder frame has been updated to stainless steel, while the rear suspension plate and gearbox plate are made from A7075 duralumin to enhance chassis rigidity. Although a stainless-steel frame was prototyped back in 1985, it was never commercialized, making this ’85 World Championship Spec its first production release.

The front suspension is reinforced with a combination of an integrated steel caster lock and a CNC-machined arm shaft lock. Newly designed FRP shock towers are used front and rear, and an FRP servo mount plate lowers the center of gravity, leaving no detail overlooked. In addition, numerous modifications, such as the addition of a rear wing and the inclusion of a ball differential as standard, both absent on the original Tomahawk, result in a finish worthy of the “World Championship Spec” name.

Celebrating the racer that helped define EP buggy racing at the first IFMAR World Championship, this kit delivers both historic authenticity and thrilling performance for nostalgic fans and new enthusiasts alike!

SPECIFICATIONS

● Special edition Tomahawk, one of the top 2WD buggies of the mid-1980s.

● Recreation of the 1985 1/10 EP Buggy World Championship worksmachine features enhanced performance and compatibility with modern R/C systems, motors, and batteries.

● Styled after the car driven by designer Akira Kokawa at the 1985 World Championship.

● Includes peppermint green front/rear wheels and rear wing as standard.

● Reinforced frame, suspension, and drivetrain improve overall performance.

● New servo mount with holes for mounting the Kyosho Le Mans 240S ESC.

● High-efficiency universal swing shafts included as standard.

● Ball differential, which was previously an optional upgrade, is now equipped as standard.

● Slipper clutch supports smooth power delivery, including brushless motor setups.

● Rear suspension and gearbox plates are A7075 duralumin with gunmetal finish.

● Medium compound tires on front and rear provide strong grip.

● Body is identical to the standard Tomahawk, with newly designed decals included.

TECHNICAL DATA

– Length: 380mm

– Width: 236mm

– Height: 152mm

– Wheelbase: 263mm

– Tread (F/R): 198mm / 195mm

– Tires (F/R): Φ75×20mm / Φ85×41mm

– Gear ratio: (H specification) 6.9:1 / (L specification) 8.3:1

– Weight: approx 1500g (with GAB4202 ）

– Motor: 540 class size (sold separately)

ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder

Wer ist KYOSHO EUROPE:

Es gibt übrigens auch ein Sondermodell auf Mini-Z Basis.
