EFRA 1/8th Nitro Off Road „B“ Euros – Qualifying Report

A“ -Events platziert waren, deswegen fehlen u.a.

Heat was the order of the day for the 1/8th Rallycross B Euros held at ABC Reding  in eastern France. Temperatures reached 32 degrees as the action hotted up out on the circuit.

Seeding practice on Friday had seen the drivers sorted by their fastest three consecutive laps, with Micha Widmaier taking the spoils and getting the number 1 on his car in the top heat.

Into qualifying proper and Vincent Meertins took the round from Thomas Musso and Leonardo Valente, this being notable as Meertins  set his time from heat 11 and Musso from heat 10.

Round 2 saw Meertins back up his strong start with a P3 for the round, with Musso repeating his P2 from round 1 and Guillame Hebert taking the round, again from heat 11.

Meertins took round 3 to make him the favourite for pole, with two round wins and the best two to count. The only person who could now deny him being Hebert, who had set a faster time in round 2. Celian Rousset took second for the round, with Musso backing up his earlier strong results with another top three position.

Into the final round and Musso set a strong pace in heat 10 – Hebert needed to take the round win to stand any chance of denying Meertins, but despite taking the top spot in heat 11 ahead of his rival, his failure to set a faster time than Musso secured the pole position for Meertins. Micha Widmaier finally showed the pace he’d displayed on Friday to beat Musso’s time in heat 12, giving him the round win from Musso and Hebert.\
