Race report by Claus Ryeskov
This weekend we raced the 2 round of the Danish championship. This time it was at Tollose. A club around 50km from Copenhagen, a club that does a lot of work with young upcoming drivers.
Weather forecast was rain Saturday for practice and Sunday some showers.
We got 4 hours of practice Saturday before the rain started , my XRAY T4F’21 was very easy and fast to drive , small changes to setup from last race in Glostrup.
Strong driver line up this time for round 2, Top ETS FWD drivers Steven Olsen and Nicolai Nielsen along Top +40 driver Casper Morgen , we were in for a fantastic race.
Sunday started wet as it has rained overnight. We postponed the start an hour, and then we had a dry track. Steven took Q1 by 3 sec so we had to make small changes. The track was washed out over night because of the rain so no sucker treatment. Q2 both Steven and me made small mistakes but I took it by 2/10 sec. So I was all up to Q3. Again small changes and a very good car, I could take Q3 and TQ for the finals. We were in for some fantastic finals.
A1 was so close with top 3 covered by 1 sec, with me taking it in front of Steven and Nicolai.
A2, a small mistake and Steven to that one by just over a sec. We would have a super A3 in hand.
A3, driving super safe as it’s almost impossible to overtake. And we came down to last corner and Steven had to make a attempt to get by , small touch and fair driving by Steven and a win in A3 and overall win.
FWD results:
- Michael Johnsen – XRAY T4F
- Steven Moller
- Nicolaj Nielsen
